Stress-Free Shopping Experience

Our design consultants take the time to ask all the right questions to ensure that every piece you order is not only functional, comfortable, and beautiful but also exactly what you want.

Happiness Guaranteed

Our team inspects every piece before it goes out for delivery, and we aren’t happy until you are. If something isn’t right, we’ll make it right–period.

Generic or mass produced? No, thank you.

In 2001, our home–and everything in it–was destroyed by a tropical storm and flood. We had to completely start over, but that ending led to an unexpected beginning.

While searching for quality, handcrafted, American-made furniture, we discovered Amish furniture. We were blown away by the superior quality and craftsmanship, so much so that in 2006, we opened our very own store: The Amish Craftsman.

We are a family-owned retail store selling solid wood, made-to-order custom furniture from Amish builders with family businesses of their own.

Our furniture is never mass-produced or assembled in a factory. Instead, it’s handcrafted by Amish families who put their heart and soul into the craft of furniture making. That’s something a machine simply can’t replicate.

Customers Review Our Huntsville Furniture

“We bought a coffee table from The Amish Craftsman last week. Sonny couldn’t have been more personable. We were debating getting several different pieces, and he did his best to help us see how each might work together in a room. Ultimately we only bought the coffee table, but what is more important is that there was no “high pressure” sales from Sonny; he just wanted us to get what would work best for us, even if it was only one piece.” -Nicholas

“So much fun to work with them and pick out my dining room chairs! Can’t wait to receive them. Looking forward to visiting the store again to find unique decor gifts for holiday gift giving!” -Kathy

“We stopped in for the first time today, and had a fantastic time! Sandra was incredibly sweet and inviting. She took her time to show us around and explain everything, she really made us feel at home. The furniture selection is pretty great, of course they have more products off the floor in catalogs etc. We fell in love with the live-edge Walnut table! Beautiful craftsmanship, and attention to detail.” -Odessa

“We recently purchased a dining table and chairs in addition to a recliner. Our stylist, Ruma, helped us decide the best size and wood stain for the table to use in our open floor plan. We had a great experience with the professionals who helped us make the perfect choice for us and answered all our questions. This is an investment and Ruma helped us every step. Highly recommend.” -Brenda

Huntsville Furniture FAQs

The process is simple. First, you pick your design – either from our showroom or from one of our catalogues. Next, you pick your wood and your stain. Lastly, we finalize your order and send it to the builder who begins construction. Then it’s just a matter of time before you receive your custom made Amish furniture. Most importantly, we will walk with you every step of the way. We know this decision is an important one, and we want to help you find your best fit!

Our lead time for your custom-built furniture is typically 12-16 weeks. We know that you are anxious to start enjoying your new Amish furniture and we make every effort to get your furniture to you as soon as possible. However, quality does take some time. Your handcrafted furniture is not built until you place the order. Each piece is built for you and built to last.

We stand behind every piece of furniture that we sell. If there is a craftsmanship issue, we take care of it. It’s that simple. Craftsmanship defects simply aren’t what usually goes wrong.

Most of the time, the problem instead stems from “accidents.” Things like my toddler wrote on my leather sofa, my housekeeper banged my table leg with the vacuum, and it’s dented.

For moments like this, (which we call life), we offer Guardsman Complete Furniture Protection.

When you invest in new furniture like this, you want to keep it looking great for as long as possible. This furniture protection plan gives you total peace of mind. Whether your furniture is fabric, leather, or wood, all damage and stains are covered by the Guardsman Gold Complete Furniture Plan.

There are no loopholes or “gotchas,” AND if you invest in the protection and don’t end up using it in 5 years, call us, and you will get your money back in the form of an in-store credit.

Our craftsmen build in red oak, quartersawn white oak, cherry, hickory, walnut, brown maple, and hard maple. All hardwoods are commercially managed and sustainably harvested from the United States and Canada.

Yes, our Amish carpenters build our furniture out of solid-milled hardwoods. Come see for yourself – this is how furniture should be built!

What a truly unique experience it was to visit the Amish Craftsman on Washington. Sandra was our sales consultant and she was so knowledgeable about wood and stains and comfort on these amazing pieces. Sandra made this such a fun and easy process. We went in to buy a round dinning room table and then got stools for the kitchen and new dinning room chairs that are absolutely gorgeous! I had to drag my husband out, he has never enjoyed shopping but this was so fun to pick out the wood and stain and beautiful pieces that we will have for generations!! I cannot wait to go back! Thank you Sandra and thank you Amish Craftsman!

We had a great customer experience at the Amish Craftsman. The sales team is very attentive, and we didn't feel pressured to commit to any choices we didn't want to make. They make the experience easy and comfortable. Our sales associate Sonny was very patient and helpful through the whole process of ordering a custom bookcase. We are thrilled with our purchase, and we think it's well worth the wait to have custom Arts & Crafts furniture in our home. I would recommend well-made Craftsman furniture to anyone looking to have wow factor pieces in their home, that will last a long time.

Seller was very informative and very patient with us trying our sofas multiple times before we settled on one.

Most furniture is mass-produced, but your needs and style are unique, so your furniture should be too.

The Amish Craftsman is different than a typical big-box furniture store. We offer many custom furniture pieces on our showroom floor, but if you don't see the style or design you want, we can custom-make your perfect piece of furniture.

You can start with one piece or a whole room. Tell us a little bit about your project and we can get started!

We are not your typical big-box furniture store. We build custom furniture for the Huntsville area to fit your needs and your home.

We know shopping for furniture can be stressful sometimes - finding the style, colors, and design that fits your home can be challenging.  At other furniture stores, you walk in and get overwhelmed (or in some cases underwhelmed) - kind of like searching for a needle in a haystack. It's different here.

You deserve furniture that works for you and fits your needs.

That's why we build it custom, just for you.

Very knowledgable staff and great looking, sturdy furniture. This is our first time purchasing so i haven't received our table yet as takes some time to custom build but i'm not the least concerned. Thanks again! Ask for Steve Murphy!

Our furniture quality and customer service speak for themselves:

Bonnie S: "Wonderful store and top notch customer service!  We chose The Amish Craftsman based on a friend's recommendation and a store visit because we were impressed by the sales staff.  My husband and I purchased a dining table and dining bench and visited the store twice before placing an order, and for each visit the staff was friendly, answered all our questions, and did not pressure us with gimmicks.  Delivery was easy, on time, and the crew was the same professional associates we met at the store.  Our set is gorgeous, wonderful quality, and absolutely worth the wait to have a custom piece made."

L V: "I really couldn't be more satisfied with the furniture we bought or the service we received at The Amish Craftsman. My husband and I picked out three pieces of furniture and added custom finishes to them so they would fit the space in our living room.  Not only were we able to speak directly with the person who would be making our tables, but he also provided us with ideas to make sure we got exactly what we wanted.  The tables were delivered on time and the people who delivered them were friendly (and kind enough to help move our old furniture into another room).
A few weeks later, my husband decided he didn't like the type of drawer pulls on the drawers, so we called up The Amish Craftsman to see how much it would cost to change them.  Not only did they engage in numerous phone calls to address the concern, but they also sent someone over to come pick the tables back up so we wouldn't have to bring them in.  They ended up changing the pulls to something that was exactly what we were looking for and didn't charge us a thing to do it.

At every turn, the staff there has been kind, professional, and willing to go out of their way to be sure we love our furniture.  And on that topic, let me say that the tables they built are absolutely beautiful--the wood and the workmanship are top quality, well worth the cost, and the kind of furniture you can keep for years."

We serve many areas in Texas and Louisana, including delivery all along the I-10 corridor in Southeast Texas and Southern Lousiana.

We serve the following areas with our custom furniture:
