Our lead time for your custom-built furniture is typically 12-16 weeks. Huntsville, TX received its name from Huntsville, Alabama when the first postmaster of Huntsville named it after his hometown in 1837. Ephraim had come to the area a year prior and opened a trading post.

Another notable resident of Huntsville was Samuel Walker Houston. Originally born into slavery in 1864 to a slave owned by Sam Houston, he went on to become a great African American pioneer in the field of education. Samuel W. Houston founded the Galilee Community School in 1907 in Walker County.

The Huntsville Independent School District commissioned a monument called The Dreamers in 1995 on the grounds of the old Samuel W. Houston Elementary School. The Dreamers honors the black community’s many contributions to the town of Huntsville and Walker County.
