Custom-made furniture that complements your style, space, and lifestyle beautifully.
Forget settling for what’s on the showroom floor. All of our furniture is made-to-order to perfectly suit your unique style, home, and lifestyle.
Our design consultants take the time to ask all the right questions to ensure that every piece you order is not only functional, comfortable, and beautiful but also exactly what you want.
Our team inspects every piece before it goes out for delivery, and we aren’t happy until you are. If something isn’t right, we’ll make it right–period.
In 2001, our home–and everything in it–was destroyed by a tropical storm and flood. We had to completely start over, but that ending led to an unexpected beginning.
While searching for quality, handcrafted, American-made furniture, we discovered Amish furniture. We were blown away by the superior quality and craftsmanship, so much so that in 2006, we opened our very own store: The Amish Craftsman.
We are a family-owned retail store selling solid wood, made-to-order custom furniture from Amish builders with family businesses of their own.
Our furniture is never mass-produced or assembled in a factory. Instead, it’s handcrafted by Amish families who put their heart and soul into the craft of furniture making. That’s something a machine simply can’t replicate.
We believe custom furniture should be impeccably constructed, built to last, and exactly what you want.
That’s why we take the time to get to know you, your home, and your lifestyle and then get to work designing the perfect pieces for you and your family. And, trust us, we really do have something for everyone.
We’ll evaluate your needs, priorities, and lifestyle and then sketch potential layouts for you-at no cost or obligation.
Together we’ll choose the style, colors, and designs that work with both your existing furnishings and new vision.
Your choice of wood and glass types, finishes, and hardware are what transform our furniture into your unique pieces.
Our Happiness Guarantee means if something isn’t right, we’ll make it right. It’s that simple. Really.

“We had an odd size space for a dining table and contacted the design team via their website. The process was so easy. I was soon contacted by email to get the discussion going. Sonny was my consultant and he provided suggestions, pictures, sizes, and prices, all via email. A great way to have a pre-discussion, so my husband and I had time to talk through it.” -Barbara
“Amish Craftsman is truly one of a kind. From design to delivery the pride taken in each piece is unmatched! I would recommend the store to anyone looking for furniture and great service!” -LeAnna
“What an excellent experience with the Amish Craftsman. 1st time buying this way but great customer service and knowledge to steer me in the right direction. The desk came out flawless and the craftsmanship is unreal. I would definitely buy again. The wait time is well worth it.” -Andrew
“Beautiful furniture and high-quality customer service! My family was visiting me in Houston from Louisiana we went in just to look and left with two custom-made orders that they will be delivering over 6 hours away. So many options in the store and the ability to custom make pretty much whatever you want and have it delivered even at a long distance. They were very helpful, knowledgeable and patient with us as we discussed and decided what we wanted. I highly recommend.” -Tricia
The Amish Craftsman offers financing options with approved credit through Wells Fargo.
The process is simple. First, you pick your design – either from our showroom or from one of our catalogues. Next, you pick your wood and your stain. Lastly, we finalize your order and send it to the builder who begins construction. Then it’s just a matter of time before you receive your custom made Amish furniture. Most importantly, we will walk with you every step of the way. We know this decision is an important one, and we want to help you find your best fit!
Our lead time for your custom-built furniture is typically 12-16 weeks. We know that you are anxious to start enjoying your new Amish furniture and we make every effort to get your furniture to you as soon as possible. However, quality does take some time. Your handcrafted furniture is not built until you place the order. Each piece is built for you and built to last.
We stand behind every piece of furniture that we sell. If there is a craftsmanship issue, we take care of it. It’s that simple. Craftsmanship defects simply aren’t what usually goes wrong.
Most of the time, the problem instead stems from “accidents.” Things like my toddler wrote on my leather sofa, my housekeeper banged my table leg with the vacuum, and it’s dented.
For moments like this, (which we call life), we offer Guardsman Complete Furniture Protection.
When you invest in new furniture like this, you want to keep it looking great for as long as possible. This furniture protection plan gives you total peace of mind. Whether your furniture is fabric, leather, or wood, all damage and stains are covered by the Guardsman Gold Complete Furniture Plan.
There are no loopholes or “gotchas,” AND if you invest in the protection and don’t end up using it in 5 years, call us, and you will get your money back in the form of an in-store credit.
Our craftsmen build in red oak, quartersawn white oak, cherry, hickory, walnut, brown maple, and hard maple. All hardwoods are commercially managed and sustainably harvested from the United States and Canada.
Yes, our Amish carpenters build our furniture out of solid-milled hardwoods. Come see for yourself – this is how furniture should be built!

Many families live in Bellaire and residents tend to have moderate political views. The public schools in Bellaire are above average.
According to Wikipedia, Bellaire is affectionately known as the “City of Homes” due to it being a mostly residential city. A native of Iowa founded the city in 1908. His name was William Wright Baldwin. Baldwin surveyed the eastern 1,000 acres of the more than 9,000 acre ranch owned by William Marsh Rice. The newly surveyed lots were comprised of small truck farms. Baldwin named the newly surveyed acreage Westmoreland Farms and founded Bellaire in the center of that area as a residential and agricultural trading center. Baldwin named the town Bellaire, or “Good Air,” for its breezes.
