Whether we’re rooting on the Astros, taking our boys to the zoo, or eating out at one of our favorite restaurants, one thing is for sure: We LOVE all things Houston! At The Amish Craftsman, we’re honored to be able to give back to the community we’re lucky to call home. Years ago, we began collaborating with some amazing local charities to help our customers’ purchases make a positive impact in our community. What once began as a seasonal campaign has turned into something that we do year round and has resulted in tens of thousands of dollars in donations to causes near and dear to our hearts.
Join us this month in supporting one of our favorite Houston non-profit organizations, Kids’ Meals.
Did you know that 1 in 5 children in Houston don’t know where their next meal is coming from? But, food insecurity is about more than just hunger. Not having enough to eat adversely affects children’s growth, brain development, mental health, behavior, cognitive function, and learning capacity.
The only program of its kind in the nation, Kids’ Meals makes and delivers 6,000 healthy meals every weekday year-round to Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children who don’t qualify for school-based meal programs. Their mission is to end childhood hunger in Houston one lunch bag at a time.
When you donate $100 to one of our participating charities, you save 20% with us. We’re taking this commitment seriously and want to continue to improve our impact and the lives of all those around us.
