Absolutely! Our Amish carpenters construct each piece using solid hardwoods, ensuring heirloom quality and lasting beauty for generations to come. This commitment to real wood sets our furniture apart from lesser-made options that rely on veneers or composite materials. Come see for yourself – this is how furniture should be built!

Amish furniture is built to last! Here are some key tips to keep your heirloom-quality pieces beautiful for generations:

• Use the right cleaning products: Avoid harsh chemicals, soaps, and oils. A damp cloth is often enough. For occasional polishing, opt for Guardsman Furniture Polish and avoid wax or silicone-based products that can leave a residue and damage the finish.
• Maintain consistent humidity and temperature: Extreme fluctuations can cause wood to warp and crack. Aim for a balanced environment to prevent seasonal changes from affecting the furniture’s form.
• Avoid direct sunlight: Excessive sun exposure can fade the wood’s color. Consider using curtains or blinds for sun protection.

We use a variety of solid hardwoods, all sustainably sourced from North America:

• Red Oak: A popular choice for its strength, durability, and warm grain patterns.
• Quartersawn White Oak: Known for its exceptional stability and beautiful, straight grain.
• Cherry: Offers a rich, reddish-brown color that darkens with age.
• Hickory: An incredibly hard and strong wood with a distinctive character.
• Walnut: Prized for its rich, dark color and elegant grain.
• Brown Maple: A beautiful medium-toned wood with a smooth, uniform appearance.
• Hard Maple: A light-colored, strong wood that takes stain well.

This variety ensures you can find the perfect wood to match your style and taste.
