FAQ

Furniture Delivery

The Amish Craftsman delivery is handled by a team of delivery professionals working across the region to ensure the safe delivery of your new furniture. Our furniture prices include shipping to our Houston warehouse. From there we deliver to the Greater Houston area as well as Central and Southeast Texas and Louisiana. Our delivery team will arrange a convenient time for delivery and offer the same high-quality experience you expect from The Amish Craftsman. Please call the store (713) 862-3444 for pricing and check our service areas. Below are the answers to a few more questions you may have about delivery:

Who will deliver my new furniture?

We have a great in-house delivery team that takes pride in what they do! Our guys run an extremely tight ship. They are punctual, professional and above all else careful. You won’t be disappointed with our delivery service! Our team inspects each and every piece before delivery. We stand behind what we sell and we won’t be satisfied until you are over the moon with our company, products and services!

How much does delivery cost?

Our delivery charges start at $99 for the Houston area. We also deliver to our neighbors throughout Southeast Texas and Southern Louisiana! We can deliver to: Beaumont & Port Arthur, Lake Charles & Lafayette and Baton Rouge & New Orleans. If you are outside of these delivery areas, arrangements may also be made for delivery using a third party freight company.  Please call the store and we will be happy to quote you a price for delivery.

Can I pick up my furniture instead of having it delivered?

We prefer to deliver your furniture to make sure that it arrives safe and sound. However, if you want to, you may pick up your furniture from our warehouse (not too far from the store). If you do decide to pick up, please come prepared. Your furniture doesn’t come boxed or wrapped. You will need to bring all the materials (i.e. moving blankets, tie-down straps and man-power) needed for transport. Also, we must warn you that solid wood furniture is extremely heavy and we can’t be responsible for any damage that may occur during loading or transport. We schedule most of our customer pick-ups by appointment on Saturday mornings. Once your furniture arrives, we will call you to schedule a convenient pick up date and time.

How do I measure for fit & ease of delivery?

To avoid delivery day disappointments, measure the area you plan to place your new furniture in, as well as the furniture you have selected to purchase, before placing your order. Also measure any doorways (height and width) through which the furniture must pass to get to its final position in your home. Identify any delivery obstacles – is there enough ceiling clearance? Will the furniture clear the stairway or elevator? Can the piece be maneuvered around any right angles? Because of our commitment to providing you with outstanding customer service, as safely and efficiently as possible, delivery personnel are unable to hoist furniture or carry furniture up more than 3 flights of stairs. An elevator must be available for deliveries to the 4th floor and above.

Can the delivery team take away my existing furniture?

Unfortunately, we cannot. However, we do believe in recycling and donating to worthy causes! To help you help others, we’ve created a list of nonprofit organizations that will gladly come to your home and remove your old furniture at no charge. Just ask one of us and we will be happy to provide you with names and phone numbers of organizations that will pick up your gently used furniture.
